Akin is an unincorporated community in Franklin County, Illinois, United States. Akin is 10 miles (16 km) east of Benton. Akin had a post office, which closed on July 2, 2011.[2] Akin is home to Akin Grade School; the school's Akin Bulldogs were the 1984 State Basketball champions.
